i'm sad to say...

...but my daughter has been diagnosed with an unfortunate syndrome that mostly affects the female gender. but unfortunately i think this may have been a genetically acquired disease. from. me. damnit.

sfs -- shoe fetish syndrome

sigh. sigh. sigh.

every morning when i'm getting her dressed all i hear is "conberse. conberse."

don't get me wrong, she has compiled quite the shoe arsenal which includes multiple pairs of vans several pairs of sketchers, sandals, etc... but the chuck t's rule her world.

i recently visited a palm reader and she kept repeating --jimmy and manolo and christian and choo and blahnik and louboutin -- i kept resisting and then i noticed this...

c'est la vie...

sfs can certainly have a devestating effect on closet space. Be sure and get her regular check-ups to keep it under control.

My girlfriend has had sfs since conception. She has at least 150 strains. So many in fact, I had to buy each one it's seperate plastic box with lid(for organization), then I took photos of each one and put the photos on the boxes so she can easily find em. Sigh.

Uggghh. My wife has a serious shoe fetish. She buys shoes constantly and many she'll never even wear. It's a serious disease. I hope they find a cure soon.

Our son didn't inherit the genetic abnormality, thank goodness. He only has three pairs of vans, one pair of Chuck Ts, two pairs of sandals and one pair of vans. Although, now that I've written it down, I realize he may have a mild case of SFS. Unfortunate.

My wife has many shoes. The other day we accidentally shut our cat in our closet and didn't notice for...umm, too long. He pooped in a pair of her shoes and peed in a few others. A sign from above. Great post.

Hah, I can relate Joeprah. Every time I leave her closet open I get scolded because our cat likes to sneak in to investigate. We have accidently locked her in there a few times.

My oldest daughter loves shoes. She has about 50 pair in her closet. She can't go to the mall without going into every shoe store.

for us it's bags more than shoes.

Small change purses right up to the huge swanky designer types.

a nightmare.

I think modern science needs to determine the motivation behind the shoes-- what purpose does it serve, evolution-wise? And I second Xbox4nappyrash's addition of bags/purses to the discussion.

My daughter's only 16 months old and she already is obsessed with shoes-- I posted about it a little while ago.

This might call for a support group.
